Rudy

The video below is a great melding of the Rudy movie and actual footage from a 2003 game when a walk-on named Nate Schomas was put into the game at the 11th hour. Schomas' story resembled Rudy's: He beat all odds by getting a walk-on spot on the team. However, soon thereafter he was injured so wasn't able to play. The coaches put him at the end of the Blue/Gold game in 2003 so that his dying father could see him play just once. A story ran in the Observer about Nate Schomas' Rudy-like situation.
Rudy is currently (November 1-15, 2006) playing on some Delta westbound flights.
